Build a proposal or quote
Proposals in Dubsado aren't just static PDFs, they're interactive experiences where clients can select the services they want, see pricing update in real time, and even sign a contract and pay a deposit all in one flow. When a client submits a proposal, Dubsado automatically creates an invoice based on what they selected, so you don't have to manually build it afterward.
First, create your package templates
Packages are what make proposals interactive. Instead of just listing your services as text, packages let clients actually select what they want to purchase, and their subtotal updates automatically as they make selections.
Click Invoicing in the main menu, then Packages under Templates.
Click the + icon and enter your package details: service name, line items, pricing, and descriptions. Repeat for each service or offering you want to include in proposals.
Once your packages are built, you can drop them into any proposal and clients will be able to select quantities or choose between different options.
Create your proposal
Click Forms in the main navigation menu.
Click New Form Template, select Proposal, then Create Template.
Title your proposal something descriptive, like "Wedding Photography Proposal" or "Brand Design Quote,” and use the drag-and-drop builder to design the layout. Add package elements from the left menu. Each package will display with its pricing and either a select button or quantity box, depending on how you want clients to interact with it.
Make sure to save your changes by clicking Save form in the top right corner.
You can add as much or as little detail as you want like intro text, package descriptions, images, FAQs, and whatever helps clients understand what you're offering and make a decision.
To include a contract or the invoice with your proposal, head to the Settings tab of your proposal within the form builder.
Toggle the Include contract option to yes and choose the contract you want displayed after the client submits the proposal.
Likewise, toggle the Include invoice option to yes to automatically show the invoice that is automatically generated by the client’s package selections.
The Include invoice option only controls whether the client is shown the invoice that the proposal generates. Regardless of whether this option is set to yes or no, the proposal will generate an invoice when submitted by the client.
You can choose to include a contract or include the invoice, you can choose to include both items, or you can include neither—giving you the flexibility to shape your proposal flow in the way that works best for your business.
