When your client submits a form, a completion message pops up to confirm the submission. You can customize this message to keep your branding consistent and remind clients of next steps.
Customize the completion message
The completion message has two parts: a header (the large, bold text) and a body (the smaller text underneath). You configure both in the form builder settings. This applies to contracts, questionnaires, proposals, and sub-agreements.
Navigate to Forms β Form templates and open a form template.
You can also open a project, click the Forms tab, and open the form from there.
Click the Settings tab in the form builder top bar.
Scroll to the General settings section.
Enter your custom text in the Completion message header field.
This is the large, bold text your client sees after submitting. The default is "Thank you!"
Enter your custom text in the Completion message body field.
This is the smaller text below the header. The default is "This form has been submitted."
Click Save.
Each form template has its own completion message. Repeat these steps for every template you want to customize.
Lead capture forms: the thank you message
Lead capture forms use a different setting called the Thank you message instead of the completion message header and body. This setting lives under Lead capture options in the form builder, and it uses a rich text editor so you can apply bold, italic, and other formatting.
Navigate to Forms β Form templates and open a lead capture form template.
Click the Settings tab in the form builder top bar.
Under Lead capture options, locate the Thank you message field.
Edit the message using the rich text editor.
The default message is "Thank you for completing this form, we'll be in touch!"
Click Save.
If a redirect URL is set under Lead capture options, the redirect takes priority and the thank you message does not display to your client.
FAQ
Why doesn't my completion message appear when I test my form?
If you test your form while logged into Dubsado, the completion message may not display. Log out of Dubsado or use an incognito or private browser window before testing.
Why doesn't my completion message appear when the form is part of a multi-step sequence?
When a client completes multiple steps in sequence, individual completion messages are suppressed. Only the final step's message displays:
A scheduler with an attached form suppresses the form's completion message.
A proposal-contract-invoice combination suppresses both the proposal and contract completion messages.
A proposal-contract combination shows only the contract's completion message.
Why doesn't my lead capture thank you message appear after my client submits?
If you have a redirect URL configured under Lead capture options, your client is sent to that URL immediately after submitting and the thank you message is skipped. Remove the redirect URL if you want the message to display instead.
