Using the scheduler redirect URL setting

Redirect clients to an external web page after they book an appointment through a Dubsado scheduler.

Redirect clients to a custom web page after they book an appointment through your scheduler. You can use this to show a personalized thank-you page, provide next steps, or reload the same scheduler at an in-person event so the next person can book right away.

Add a redirect URL to a scheduler template

The redirect URL is a setting on your scheduler template. Once saved, every booking made through that scheduler will redirect clients to your chosen URL when the booking is complete.

  1. Navigate to Events ➔ Scheduler Templates.

  2. Select the scheduler template you want to configure. This opens the scheduler builder.

  3. Click the Advanced tab.

  4. Open the Redirect to URL card.

  5. Enter the full URL in the URL field (for example, https://example.com/redirect-to-my-success-page).

  6. Click Save.

The redirect fires after the client has completed the full booking flow, including any required forms and payments.

The redirect URL replaces the default booking confirmation page. Your client will not see the Dubsado confirmation screen after booking, but they will still receive a confirmation email for the appointment.

Using the redirect URL to link to a Dubsado scheduler

Beyond linking to a third-party page, you can also use the redirect URL to point back to a Dubsado scheduler. Two common scenarios where this is useful are running your scheduler at an in-person event and helping an existing client book a series of appointments.

Redirect the scheduler back to itself

If you are running a scheduler at an in-person event — for example, on a tablet in your booth — you can configure the scheduler to reload itself after each booking. This means as soon as one person finishes booking, the scheduler is ready for the next person without any manual action from you.

  1. Navigate to Events ➔ Scheduler Templates and open the scheduler template.

  2. Click the Share button (share icon) in the toolbar to open the sharing popover.

  3. Under Public Link, click Copy Link.

  4. Click the Advanced tab.

  5. Open the Redirect to URL card.

  6. Paste the copied link in the URL field.

  7. Click Save.

For each person who books to get their own project in Dubsado, attach a lead capture form using the Form card on the Advanced tab. Without a form set up for lead capture, bookings will not automatically create new projects.

Have clients book multiple appointments

If an existing client needs to book several appointments in a row — such as a series of sessions — you can get a project-specific scheduler URL and use it as the redirect. After each booking, the client is looped back to the same scheduler, already tied to their project.

To set this up:

  1. Open the client's project and click the Events tab.

  2. Click Add Scheduler to open the Select a scheduler to send modal.

  3. Select the scheduler template from the Scheduler or group dropdown.

  4. Select Book for client and click Continue. The project-specific public scheduler page opens in a new browser tab.

  5. Copy the URL from your browser's address bar.

  6. Navigate to Events ➔ Scheduler Templates and open the same scheduler template.

  7. Click the Advanced tab, then open the Redirect to URL card.

  8. Paste the project-specific URL in the URL field.

  9. Click Save.

  10. Send the scheduler link to your client. When they finish booking one appointment, the scheduler will reload — still connected to their project — so they can book the next one.

FAQ

Will my client still see the default confirmation page?

No. The redirect URL replaces the default confirmation page entirely. Your client will not see the Dubsado booking confirmation screen, but they will still receive the confirmation email. You can customize that email at Messages ➔ Default templates ➔ Appointment Confirmed.

Can I use the redirect URL to link to a Dubsado form?

No. The redirect URL only works with external web pages. If you want to collect additional information from clients as part of the booking process, attach a form using the Form card on the Advanced tab of the scheduler template instead.
