Depending on your Microsoft email, connecting with Dubsado may cause an error and require additional steps to complete.
Unable to connect using “Sign in with Microsoft”
If you bought your email address through GoDaddy but “Sign in with Microsoft” resulted in an error, then you’ll want to connect using SMTP instead:
Go to Settings > Emails.
Click Use SMTP.
In the dropdown, select Other.
Under Username, enter your GoDaddy email address.
Under Password, enter your email password (not your Dubsado password).
Under Server, type
smtpout.secureserver.net
.Under Port and SSL, try the following combinations. You may have to try different port numbers to find one that works:
Port: 465 | Use SSL: Yes
Port: 587 | Use SSL: Yes
Port: 26 | Use SSL: No
Click Test.
Click Save SMTP if successful.
“Incorrect password” error but your password is correct
The error message occurs because you’re using two-step verification with your Microsoft account. That means that before you can connect Dubsado with your Microsoft email, you’ll need to create an app password.
To create an app password, follow the instructions from Microsoft’s help article. After you have an app password created, follow the steps below in Dubsado:
Go to Settings > Emails.
Click Use SMTP.
Under Email Provider, select Outlook365/Godaddy.
Under Username, enter your Microsoft email address.
Under Password, enter the newly created app password.
Click Test.
👋 Here’s a tip… If your account still fails to connect, we recommend following the steps listed above in the Unable to connect using “Sign in with Microsoft” section.
