🎉 Dubsado Payments powered by Stripe is slowly rolling out to existing Stripe users ahead of our general launch in April 2024! Keep an eye on your email for updates.

You may already be familiar with the payout process between Stripe and Dubsado — a client pays a Dubsado invoice and those funds go into your Stripe account. The payout occurs when the funds get deposited from Stripe into your bank account.

With Dubsado Payments connected, payouts will mostly follow the same standards as Stripe. This means that Stripe will still manage your funds and make payouts to your bank account at set times, depending on your country, payout schedule, and bank account.

The article below summarizes how Stripe manages payouts, with additional details provided if something is specific to Dubsado Payments.

Payout schedule and speed

Payouts from your Stripe account to your bank account depend on two factors: payout schedule and payout speed. With Dubsado Payments, your payout schedule and speed will not change from your Stripe account’s current settings.

Payout schedule The payout schedule refers to how frequently Stripe sends money to your bank account. You can change the payout schedule at any time from your Stripe Dashboard. Dubsado Payments follows the same payment schedule options.

Stripe defaults to a daily automatic payout schedule, but also offers any of the following payout schedules:

  • Daily automatic

  • Weekly automatic (choose a specific day of the week to initiate payouts)

  • Monthly automatic (choose a specific day of the month to initiate payouts)

  • Manual (initiate the payout at any time)

Heads up! The payout schedule is the time frame that Stripe initiates sending out funds from your Stripe account to your bank — but you might not receive the funds that day. The time it takes for the funds to reach your bank account depends on the payout speed.

Payout speed

The payout speed refers to the time it takes for funds to reach your bank account and varies depending on the country you’re in. Stripe provides payout speed averages, but the exact time it takes to receive a payout may vary.

Change your bank account

If you switch to a new bank and you need to update your bank account on file with Stripe, all changes are done entirely through your Stripe account, not through Dubsado. Follow Stripe’s help article on updating a bank account for step-by-step instructions.

Payouts being sent to an old bank account

If a payout has already been initiated before you change your bank account, Stripe will deposit the funds into the first bank account on file. You can tell this if the payout in your Stripe Dashboard shows as in transit or paid. If your bank account is still active, it is not possible to recall a payout after it has started.

The old bank account is closed

In cases where your old bank account is closed, your funds will return back to Stripe within 5 business days. Stripe will then deposit the funds into your new bank account.

Minimum and maximum payout amounts

Payouts must reach a minimum threshold amount before Stripe can transfer those funds to your bank account. These minimums are normally set based on the lowest amount that banks can accept. When using Dubsado Payments, there won’t be any differences in the minimum payout amount.

If you are below the minimum payout threshold, the balance remains in your Stripe account until you receive additional payments. Please see Stripe’s help article on minimum payout amounts by country.

For maximum payout amounts, Stripe does not have an upper limit!
