Link is a payments technology built by Stripe. When you’re connected with Dubsado Payments, your clients can use Link to pay your Dubsado invoices in just one click!

How Link works

Stripe created Link to facilitate a faster and easier checkout experience for your clients.

When a client makes a payment on a Link-enabled website, they can opt to save their email, payment information, and shipping address to a Link account. The next time that client goes to pay a business that uses Link, Link automatically populates their saved information, allowing them to pay in just one click.

Hundreds of thousands of businesses around the world use Link, so it’s likely your clients have already used Link to save their info when making a payment sometime in the past.

Every Dubsado user who is connected with Dubsado Payments will have Link active on their invoices - helping you get paid at lightning speed, with ease!

Creating a new Link account

If a client does not yet have a Link account associated with their email, they are prompted to enter their payment details as normal. During this process, they can check the box next to “Save your info for secure 1-click checkout with Link” to opt into using Link in the future.

When a client checks this option, they can then enter their phone number and create an account with Link upon submitting their payment.

Making a payment with Link

The system will automatically detect if the client’s email has a Link account associated with it when a "Pay Now" button on the client's invoice is clicked.

If the client has a Link account, Link automatically sends the client a 6-digit verification code via SMS or email to confirm their identity. Clients then enter that 6-digit code to view their saved payment methods and choose the payment method for the current transaction.

After confirming the payment method, clicking “Pay Now” will complete the payment.

When previewing your clients’ invoices, take care not to click any “Pay Now” buttons. Doing so means the client will receive an SMS message when they aren’t trying to make a payment, since the system automatically sends the verification code when “Pay Now” is clicked - regardless of who clicks the button.
