Depending on your Microsoft email, connecting with Dubsado may cause an error and require additional steps to complete.

In this article:

Unable to connect using “Sign in with Microsoft”

If you bought your email address through GoDaddy but Sign in with Microsoft resulted in an error, then you’ll want to connect using SMTP instead:

  1. Go to Settings >> Emails.

  2. Click Use SMTP.

  3. In the dropdown, select Other.

  4. Under Username, enter your email address.

  5. Under Password, enter your email password (not your Dubsado password).

  6. Under Server, type

  7. Under Port and SSL, try the following combinations. You may have to try different port numbers to find one that works:

    • Port: 465 | Use SSL: Yes

    • Port: 587 | Use SSL: Yes

    • Port: 25 | Use SSL: No

    • Port: 26 | Use SSL: No

  8. Click Test.

  9. Click Save SMTP if successful.

“Incorrect password” error but your password is correct

The error message occurs because you’re using two-step verification with your Microsoft account. Before you can connect Dubsado with your Microsoft email, you must create an app password.

Follow the instructions from Microsoft’s help article to create an app password. Once you have an app password created, follow the steps below in Dubsado:

  1. Go to Settings >> Emails.

  2. Click Use SMTP.

  3. Under Email Provider, select Outlook365/Godaddy.

  4. Under Username, enter your Microsoft email address.

  5. Under Password, enter the newly created app password.

  6. Click Test.

If your account still fails to connect, follow the Unable to connect instructions.
