Connect with PayPal
Go to Settings (gear icon) >> Receive Money.
If prompted, enter your Base Country and Currency, then click Save.
Click Connect with PayPal.
In the modal that appears, enter the email address associated with your PayPal account twice to verify.
The option to Accept PayPal Payments will be checked and PayPal will appear as an option when your clients click the Pay Now button on your invoices.
⛔ Warning: Take care to enter the correct email address for your PayPal account. Dubsado cannot help you recover payments if they go to the wrong account.
PayPal checkout process
When your client clicks the Pay Now button on an invoice, they can click the Pay with PayPal button.
A PayPal window will appear. Here, the client can Log In to their PayPal account, or they can click Pay with Debit or Credit Card to pay without a PayPal account.
⚠️ Heads up! PayPal is not compatible with autopay on recurring invoices.
Does PayPal charge a payment processing fee?
Yes. You can review PayPal's merchant fees on their website. Dubsado does not collect any additional fees on top of the processing fee!
How long does it take to receive payments from PayPal?
Processing times can vary and are determined by the processor. We recommend reaching out to PayPal directly with any questions on processing times!
Is PayPal a good choice of payment processor to use with Dubsado?
Clients with PayPal accounts will enjoy the added convenience of checking out with PayPal. However, in our professional opinion, we do not recommend PayPal for service-based businesses. Since it's difficult to provide proof that you have delivered an intangible service to your clients, clients can very easily file a dispute with PayPal and get their money back.
If you have been using PayPal for a while and are comfortable with it, we are happy that we can provide this option for you and your clients! If you are new to business and trying to decide on a payment processor, we recommend Stripe.
