Getting contracts signed doesn't have to mean printing, scanning, or chasing people down for signatures. In Dubsado, contracts are digital forms you can send directly to clients, and they can review and sign them from any device in just a few clicks. Once signed, the contract stays stored in the project folder, so you always have a record of what was agreed upon.
Create a contract template
Click Forms in the main navigation menu.
Click New Form Template in the top left, select Contract, then Create Template.
Give your contract a title and use the drag-and-drop builder to add your legal terms. You can add initial fields if you need clients to initial specific clauses, and make sure to include an e-signature element at the bottom so clients can sign digitally.
You can also add a countersignature field if youโd like to sign the contract yourself. Simply add an additional signature element to the contract and toggle the This signature field is for field to You (the owner).
Make sure to save your changes by clicking Save form in the top right of the page.
Once your contract template is built, you can reuse it with every client who needs that type of agreement. If you offer different services with different terms, create a separate template for each.
Send your contract
Open the project where you want to send the contract and click the Forms tab.
Click the plus icon in the bottom right, select your contract template from the list, and click Apply Template.
Click the Send icon in the top-right corner.
An email draft will appear with your contract embedded as a clickable button. Edit the email message or choose a canned email template if you've created one, then send.
Your client will receive the email, click the button, and be taken to a page where they can read and sign the contract. You'll get a notification the moment they sign, and you can always access the signed agreement within the project.
