The form builder includes a library of elements you can drag and drop onto your form canvas. Combine general-purpose elements with form type-specific elements to build fully customized forms.
General elements
These elements are available on every form type.
Container -- Organize content into one, two, three, or four columns with optional background colors and images. For detailed customization options, see Organize content with containers.
Text Box -- Add a block of read-only text such as headings, clauses, welcome messages, or instructions.
Images -- Upload and display a JPG, PNG, or GIF image.
Divider -- Add a horizontal line to separate sections of your form.
Spacer -- Insert blank space between elements.
Short Answer -- Collect a brief, single-line response. Short answer fields can be mapped to client or project fields to store information for later use.
Free Response -- Collect a longer, multi-line response.
Date Select -- Let your client choose a date. Date select fields can be mapped to project dates.
Dropdown -- Present a list of options for your client to choose one.
Checkboxes -- Let your client select one or more options.
Multiple Choice -- Let your client select one option from several.
Short Answer and Date Select are the only mappable elements. Use field mapping to save client responses to contact or project fields so you can reference them later. Mapped fields cannot be duplicated on the same form.
Form type-specific elements
These elements only appear in the Elements panel when you are building certain form types. If you do not see an element you expect, check your form type.
Signature field -- Collect an electronic signature. You can add a second signature field for your own countersignature. This field is always required. (Contracts and sub-agreements)
Initials field -- Display a term or clause for your client to initial. This field is always required. (Contracts and sub-agreements)
Package -- Display a service package for your client to select. Selected packages are added to the invoice when the form is submitted. (Proposals)
Flows -- A dropdown that triggers a specific flow based on your client's selection. You can only add one Flows element per form. (Lead captures)
Project tracking -- A dropdown that applies a project source tag based on your client's selection (for example, "How did you hear about us?"). You can only add one Project tracking element per form. (Questionnaires, proposals, and lead captures)
File Uploader -- Let your client upload one or more files. Maximum file size is 8 MB per file. (Questionnaires, proposals, and lead captures)
HTML Block -- Insert custom HTML code. Can be used to embed a video. JavaScript is allowed but will not run in the builder. (Questionnaires, proposals, and lead captures)
FAQ
Why don't I see certain elements in the Elements panel?
Some elements are only available on specific form types. For example, Signature field and Initials field only appear on contracts and sub-agreements. If you do not see an element you expect, check your form type.
