This article lists the server names and port numbers for common email providers, for use when connecting your email to Dubsado over SMTP. If you need the full steps for connecting your email account, see the SMTP setup article instead.
Who SMTP server names and port numbers are for
The settings below only apply if you select Other while connecting your email with SMTP. If your provider is GoDaddy, iCloud, Yahoo, or AOL, choose it directly from the provider dropdown instead. Dubsado handles the server name and port automatically, so you can skip this article entirely.
When you select one of those four providers, Dubsado shows a simplified form that only asks for your Username and Password (or app password), with no server name, port, or SSL setting to enter. The server names and ports in this article are only needed if your provider isn't in that list and you select Other, which opens the full form with Server name, Port, and Use SSL fields.
Where to find these settings
Open Messages ➔ Settings or Settings ➔ Emails, then click Connect with SMTP. From the Select an email provider dropdown, choose Other to reveal the Server name, Port, and Use SSL fields. This page is only available to Admin and Owner roles.
The Port field is a dropdown limited to 26, 465, and 587, so you can't type in a custom port number.
Provider reference
Find your email provider below for its recommended server name, port, and SSL setting. These settings are controlled by each provider and may change. If a recommended setting stops working, check the provider's own email setup help article for the most current values, or try one of the alternative port and SSL combinations listed.

If your Zoho account has multi-factor authentication enabled, you'll also need an app-specific password to connect. See below.
Zoho app-specific password
If you have multi-factor authentication (MFA) enabled on your Zoho account, Zoho requires an app-specific password instead of your regular password for the SMTP connection.
Sign into your Zoho account.
Navigate to Security ➔ App Passwords.
Click Generate New Password.
Type Dubsado as the app name and click Generate.
Copy the generated password. It won't be shown again.
In Dubsado, paste the generated password into the Password field instead of your regular Zoho password.
Zoho may require an app-specific password instead of your regular password when MFA is enabled. Generate one in your Zoho account before connecting.
FAQ
I use Yahoo (or GoDaddy, iCloud, or AOL). What server name and port do I enter?
None. Choose your provider by name from the dropdown and Dubsado configures the server and port for you automatically. The simplified form only asks for your username and password (or app password). The values in this article only apply to providers connected through Other.
My provider isn't listed here. What do I do?
Select Other and enter your provider's SMTP server name and port. Most providers publish these in their own email or SMTP help docs. Port 465 with Use SSL on is the most common recommended setting. If that doesn't connect, try 587 or 26. Reach out to your provider or Dubsado support if you're still stuck.
The recommended port didn't work. What else can I try?
Each provider above lists alternative port and SSL combinations to try. Dubsado's Port dropdown supports 26, 465, and 587.
