Once you've created your lead capture form, you can embed it on your website or share a direct link with potential clients. Every submission automatically creates a new contact and project in Dubsado.
Share your lead capture form
After creating your lead capture form, follow these steps to get your embed code or direct link.
Go to Forms ➔ Form Templates in the sidebar.
Click on the lead capture form you want to share.
In the form builder, click the Sharing tab in the sidebar.
Click the Embed code or Direct link field to copy it.
The Sharing tab only appears after you save your form. If you don't see it, click Save form first.
Embed the form on your website
The embed code lets you display your lead capture form directly on a web page. Copy the embed code and paste it into your website builder's HTML or custom code block. For instructions on adding custom HTML, consult your hosting platform's documentation.
Share the direct link
The direct link opens your form without requiring a website — useful for social media bios, email signatures, text messages, or anywhere you want to point someone to your form. Copy the link and share it wherever you'd like.
Both the embed code and the direct link point to the same form, so you can use them at the same time without any conflict.
Starter plan: one active lead capture at a time
On the Starter plan, only one lead capture form can be active and shareable at a time. If you want to share multiple lead capture forms simultaneously, that requires the Premier plan.
When you open the Sharing tab for a lead capture form that isn't currently active, you'll see this message: "Another lead capture form is currently active. Only the active lead capture form can be shared." To switch which form is active, follow these steps.
Go to Forms ➔ Form Templates in the sidebar.
Click on the lead capture form you want to activate.
Click the Sharing tab in the sidebar.
Click Activate this form. A confirmation modal appears with the header Save changes?
Review the modal — it confirms that only one lead capture can be active at a time, and that the previously active form will stop accepting submissions immediately.
Click Activate to confirm. Click Go back to cancel.
When you activate a new form, the previous lead capture deactivates immediately. Clients can no longer submit the old form. Update any links or embed codes right away.
Automate your lead capture
You can connect a flow to your lead capture form so that actions run automatically when a lead submits. To learn how, see start a flow from your lead capture form.
FAQ
Do I need to re-embed the form or copy a new link after making changes?
No. When you save changes to your lead capture form, those changes update automatically everywhere the form is embedded or linked. You don't need to copy a new embed code or a new direct link.
Can I embed the form on my website and share the direct link at the same time?
Yes. Both methods point to the same form, and submissions from either source go to the same place in Dubsado.
Why don't I see the Sharing tab on my form?
The Sharing tab only appears on lead capture forms and public proposals. It does not appear on contracts, questionnaires, or sub-agreements — those form types can only be sent through a project or directly to a client. The tab is also hidden if the form hasn't been saved yet, or if you opened the form from within a project context. If your form isn't working as expected after sharing it, see troubleshoot lead capture forms.
