Create a one-time form inside a project

Create a new questionnaire, sub-agreement, contract, or proposal from scratch within a specific project.

Written by Trevor

Create a new form directly inside a project when you need something specific to that project without saving it as a reusable template. This is useful for one-off questionnaires, sub-agreements, contracts, or proposals that you only plan to use once.

Create a new form inside a project

To create a form from scratch within a project, navigate to Projects ➔ select a project ➔ Forms tab. From there, you can use the +Add a form button to start a new form.

When you start a new form, the Easy Form Creation Tool opens first, where you can describe the form you need or upload a PDF to convert and let Dubsado build it for you. To build the form yourself instead, follow the steps below.

  1. Go to Projects and select the project.

  2. Click the Forms tab.

  3. Click +Add a form.

  4. Click the Select a form template dropdown, then click New form. The Easy Form Creation Tool opens.

  5. Click Start from scratch instead.

  6. Choose one of the following form types:

  7. Click Continue to open the form builder.

  8. Build your form in the form builder.

  9. When finished, click Save form to save your changes.

    • To save and return to the project, click the dropdown arrow next to Save form and select Save and close.

    • To save a copy as a reusable template, click the dropdown arrow next to Save form and select Save and create template.

The Contract option is only available if the project does not already have a contract. If a contract exists in the project, you won't see Contract as an option. If you need an additional contract-like form, create a sub-agreement instead.

If you think you might reuse this form in the future, consider creating it as a form template instead. You can also use Save and create template in the form builder to save a copy as a template after building the form.

Sending a form

Once created, the form appears in the project's Forms tab alongside any other forms added to the project. You can send it to your client the same way you would send any other form. For full instructions, see Send a proposal, questionnaire, or sub-agreement.

FAQ

Can I turn a project-specific form into a template after creating it?

Yes. In the form builder, click the dropdown arrow next to Save form and select Save and create template. This saves a copy of the form as a template in Forms ➔ Form templates while keeping the original form in the project.

Why don't I see the Contract option when creating a new form?

A project can only have one contract. If the project already has a contract, the Contract option appears disabled. If you need an additional contract-like form, create a sub-agreement instead.
