Single sign-on (SSO) lets you log in to Dubsado with your Google account instead of an email and password, so you have one less password to manage. You connect and disconnect Google SSO from the Name & Sign-in settings page: click your name at the bottom of the left sidebar, then Settings ➔ Name & Sign-in, or go there directly from the main Settings page. This is also where you manage your email and password when you're not using SSO.
Switch from email and password to Google single sign-on
By default, you log in to Dubsado with an email and password. Connecting your Google account switches you to signing in with Google instead.
Navigate to Settings ➔ Name & Sign-in.
In the Connect an account card, click Continue with Google.
In the Verify with your password window, enter your Dubsado password and click Next.
You're redirected to Google. Sign in with your Google account.
Once you sign in, you return to Dubsado and see the message "Your Google account has been connected." The Email section now shows a Google card with your connected email address, and the Password section is hidden since you no longer log in with a password.
Once connected, log in by choosing Continue with Google on the Dubsado login page instead of entering an email and password.
Switch from Google SSO back to email and password
If you want to go back to logging in with an email and password, disconnect your Google account.
Navigate to Settings ➔ Name & Sign-in.
In the Google card under Email, click Disconnect.
In the Disconnect Google account? window, click Disconnect to confirm, or Cancel to keep Google connected.
You're logged out of Dubsado right away. Check the email sent to your address to create a password, then log back in with your email and new password.
Disconnecting logs you out of Dubsado right away for security. You'll need the password-creation email to log back in, so make sure you can access that inbox before you disconnect.
Change your Google SSO to another Google account
To switch which Google account you use for SSO, disconnect your current account first, then reconnect with the new one.
Disconnect your current Google account. This logs you out and sends a password-creation email to your address.
Log back in with your email and new password.
If you need to change your email to the new Google address first, navigate to Settings ➔ Name & Sign-in and click Change email. This opens the Verify with your password window.
Return to the Connect an account card and click Continue with Google, choosing the new Google account.
FAQ
What happens if I signed up with a Google email and now have to log in with Google SSO?
If you originally signed up with an email and password but then chose Continue with Google on the login page, Dubsado automatically switches your account to Google SSO going forward, and you can no longer log in with your original email and password. To return to email and password login, disconnect your Google account.
What happens if I signed up with Google SSO and was brought into an existing account?
If you choose Google SSO with a Gmail address that already has a Dubsado account, you're logged into that existing account with SSO. To return to email and password login, disconnect your Google account.
What happens if I logged in with Google SSO and a new Dubsado account was created?
Selecting a Google email that doesn't already exist in Dubsado creates a new trial account. Make sure you choose the Google email tied to your existing Dubsado account.
Can I use a single sign-on provider other than Google?
No, Google is the only single sign-on provider Dubsado currently offers.
Can I use Google SSO with an alias?
No, Google SSO doesn't support alias email addresses.
