Connect an email address to Dubsado that is not a Google or Microsoft email.

In this article:

Step 1: Configure SMTP for outgoing emails

The first step is to connect to the SMTP server for your email account.

  1. Go to Settings (gear icon) >> Emails.

  2. Click Use SMTP.

  3. In the dropdown, select an email provider or select Other.

  4. Under Username, enter your email address.

  5. Under Password, enter your email password (not your Dubsado password).

  6. If you selected Other, fill out Server and Port information.

    • If you use Bluehost, DreamHost, HostGator, Namecheap, SiteGround, Yahoo, or Zoho, click here to get server names and port numbers. For all others, search your specific email provider’s help center for outgoing SMTP server and port settings.

  7. Click Test to verify the connection.

  8. Click Save SMTP in the modal that appears if the test is successful.

Step 2: Allow forwarding for incoming emails

After connecting your email account for outgoing emails, set up bringing client replies into Dubsado.

  1. Go to Settings (gear icon) >> Emails.

  2. Under Incoming emails, copy the Brand email address.

  3. Locate your email provider’s forwarding settings by contacting your email provider or searching their documentation for "forwarding settings”.

  4. Paste the Brand email address into the forwarding address of your email provider.

  5. Click Save.

If your provider sends a verification code to that brand address, perform the following:

  1. Create a client profile in Dubsado by going to Utilities >> Address Book and add the email associated with your email provider. See the table below for common email addresses.

  2. Go back to your email provider and re-send the verification email.

  3. Under Settings >> Emails, the verification code will appear.
