Once you create a form template, sending a form to your client is easy! This article covers sending sub-agreements, questionnaires, and proposals. Contract and lead capture forms work a little differently, so please see:

In this article:

Send a form manually through a project

Sending a form through a project keeps your forms organized by client:

  1. Click to open your client’s project under Projects.

  2. Click on the Forms tab.

  3. Click on the Add new form dropdown.

  4. Select the form. A popup preview will appear.

  5. Click Add to add the proposal to the client’s project. New options appear in the preview: Copy Link, Open, Send, and Edit.

  6. Click Send. An email draft will appear with a link that leads to the selected form.

  7. Edit the text in the email or click the bookmark icon in the toolbar to choose a different email from Templates >> Canned Emails.

  8. Click Send to send to the client.

👋 Here's a tip... Edit the default email used for sending forms under Templates >> Canned Emails >> Edit Templates >> Send Form.

Send a form automatically through a workflow

Automate your business process by sending your form using a workflow.

  1. Go to Templates >> Workflows to choose or add a workflow.

  2. Click Add Action.

  3. Select Send form.

  4. Choose a trigger.

  5. Under Form Template to Send, select the form.

  6. Draft an email with the smart field {{form | formLink}} so the form link appears correctly in the email. You can do this in two ways:

    1. Under Email to send, choose an email template from Templates >> Canned Emails.

    2. Write a new email with a Subject Line and Email Body.

  7. Click Apply.

Heads up! If you send a proposal, setting a payment plan in both your workflow and proposal will cause an error. See workflows and payment plans.

Edit a form before sending

Editing a form within a client’s project won’t change the original template. Adding the form to a project makes a fresh copy of the template.

To edit your form before sending it, click Edit in the preview popup after adding the form to the project.

Alternatively, you can also hover over the form in the Forms tab and click Edit.

When you're finished editing, use the dropdown arrow next to Save and select Save and Close to save your changes and return to the project.

FAQ

Where do I find my client responses?

Once a form is submitted, view the client's responses by returning to the Forms tab and clicking View on the form.

Can I send more than one form in a single email?

Yes! You can add links to additional forms and other templates to the same email when sending manually through a project. Check out this article for more info.
