Running more than one workspace in Dubsado? Here are our best practices for keeping each workspace organized and getting the smoothest experience when you switch between them.
If you're setting up a new workspace, you can add one right from your account. If you need to remove a workspace instead, that's handled separately by our team.
Settings and integrations
Most settings are managed separately for each workspace so that you can fully customize your experience. In each workspace, you can:
Connect a different payment processor
Bill clients in a different currency
Connect a different email address
Set different notification preferences
Invite different team members
A few settings stay the same across your whole account, no matter which workspace you're in:
Login settings
Billing (all workspaces are billed to one card on file)
Affiliate dashboard and code
Your connected external calendar account
Because most settings are per-workspace, changes you make in one workspace do not carry over to your others. Keep this in mind as you set up templates and integrations in each one.
Switch between workspaces
To switch to a different workspace, click the button showing your current workspace's name in the top left corner of your page. This opens the workspace switcher, with a Workspaces heading listing your other workspaces. Click a workspace to switch to it. There's no need to log in separately.
The same menu includes a Create new workspace link if you want to add another workspace.
Refresh your page after switching workspaces so that everything is up to date.
Manage templates
Templates are not shared across workspaces. When you create a template (form, email template, package, etc.) in one workspace, it doesn't automatically appear in your other workspaces.
You can copy a form template from one workspace to another with help from the Dubsado support team, which can transfer up to 10 form templates per day.
Manage your calendar
You can sync only one external calendar account to your entire Dubsado account at a time. That means the same calendar account you sync in one workspace is also the calendar account synced in all of your other workspaces.
Events created in Dubsado, like projects, appointments, and dated tasks, only appear on the calendar of the workspace where they were created. You won't see events from one workspace when you're looking at your calendar in another.
Manage payments and invoices
You can connect the same payment processor across every workspace in your account, or a different processor for each one.
Invoicing is separate across your workspaces. You'll need to switch into a specific workspace to see its invoices, and invoice numbers are specific to each workspace.
You can sync only one Xero organization per workspace. Once a Xero organization is connected to a workspace, it can't be connected to another workspace at the same time.
Using more than one workspace at the same time
You can have more than one workspace open at once, as long as you set things up the right way.
Use an incognito or private window, or a separate browser entirely, to keep each workspace in its own session. For example, log into one workspace in your main browser window, then open an incognito window and log into a different workspace there. You can also use two separate browsers, such as one workspace in Chrome and another in Firefox.
Trying to use two different workspaces at the same time in the same browser (even in separate tabs) will not work. Remember to refresh the page whenever you switch from one workspace to another.
