Add an additional workspace

How to create an additional workspace on your Dubsado account and subscribe it to a paid plan.

Written by Trevor

Run more than one business? Add a workspace to your Dubsado account to keep each business's contacts, projects, and templates completely separate, all under a single login.

Every Dubsado account starts with one workspace. Adding another gives that business its own contacts, projects, templates, and most settings, and managing more than one workspace is just a matter of switching between them as you work.

Create an additional workspace

You can start a new workspace from two places in Dubsado: the switcher you already use to move between workspaces, or your billing settings.

From the workspace switcher

  1. Click the switcher at the top of the main sidebar. It shows your current workspace name and your role.

  2. Select Create new workspace.

From Settings ➔ Billing

This page is available to account owners only.

  1. Navigate to Settings ➔ Billing.

  2. In the Plans section, click New brand.

What happens when you create a workspace

However you start it, Dubsado creates the new workspace right away. There's no separate name, logo, or address form to fill out first. The workspace is automatically named after your own name until you rename it, and you're taken straight into onboarding for it, where you can rename it and add its logo and address, or handle that later from that workspace's branding settings.

New workspaces also start on a free trial, shown as a Trial badge in the switcher, until you subscribe them to a paid plan.

After you create a workspace, you land in onboarding for it. You can rename it and add your logo and address there, or update those details anytime from that workspace's settings.

You can only have one active trial running at a time. If any of your workspaces is currently on a trial, the create option is disabled until you subscribe that workspace to a paid plan.

Upgrade the additional workspace to a paid plan

Once you're ready to keep a workspace going beyond its trial, you subscribe it to a paid plan from the same place you manage billing for your whole account.

  1. Navigate to Settings ➔ Billing. This page is available to account owners only.

  2. In the Plans section, find the workspace's card and click Subscribe.

  3. Complete checkout in the subscription window that opens by picking a plan and entering your payment details.

Billing for every workspace on your account, including subscriptions, is managed from one place under Settings ➔ Billing, and all your workspaces are billed to the same card on file.

FAQ

How much does it cost to add an additional workspace?

Additional workspaces are billed at $10 per month, per additional brand.

How many additional workspaces can I add?

As many as you like. Each one starts as a free trial and stays a trial until you subscribe it to a paid plan. Since only one workspace can be on an active trial at a time, subscribe any existing trial workspace to a paid plan before starting another one.

Can I have my additional workspace billed annually instead of monthly?

No. Additional workspaces are billed monthly, regardless of your main plan's billing cadence.

What is the billing cycle for multiple workspaces?

Additional workspaces appear together on a single add-on line on your account's invoice. Adding one partway through your billing cycle prorates the charge for that period. You can review upcoming charges anytime under Settings ➔ Billing.

Can I bill different workspaces to two separate cards?

No. All subscriptions on your account, across every workspace, bill to the same card on file.

How do I delete a workspace?

You can delete a workspace you no longer need directly from that workspace's settings.
