Customize the look and feel of your client portal so it matches your workspace: set a welcome message, rename the Projects tab, add a portal-specific logo and banner, and choose the colors your clients see when they log in.
Where to customize your portal
Navigate to Settings ➔ Client portal. The page opens to a single scrolling column with three cards: Content & Logo, Banner & Colors, and Sharing.
Changes aren't live until you save them. The Save button at the top of the page stays disabled until you make an edit, and Dubsado prompts you if you try to leave the page with unsaved changes.
These settings apply across your whole workspace, not to an individual client. To set a banner image for one specific client instead, you edit that from the contact or project.
Content and logo
The Content & Logo card controls the text and logo your clients see at the top of their portal.
Setting a welcome message
The Welcome message field controls the text that displays at the top of the portal, over the banner. Make sure your banner font color has enough contrast with this text so it stays readable.
There's no toggle to hide the welcome message. If you clear the field and save, your clients see the default message instead: "Your client portal with [your brand name]."
Renaming the Projects tab
Use the "Projects" tab text field to rename the Projects tab your clients see in their portal. The default label is "Projects."
Adding a portal logo
Upload a Portal Logo to show a different logo in your client portals than your default workspace logo. Logo files can be PNG, JPEG, or GIF, up to 5MB.
Use the Show logo toggle beside the heading to control whether the logo appears in your portals. Turn it off to hide the logo; the uploader is disabled while the toggle is off.
Your portal logo is separate from the default logo you set at Settings ➔ Styling. If you don't upload a portal-specific logo, your client portals use the Styling logo instead.
Banner and colors
The Banner & Colors card controls the images and colors that set the visual style of your client portal, along with live previews so you can check your choices before saving.
Adding banner images
Upload a Full-width banner (1800 x 200) for desktop and a Mobile banner (700 x 400) for smaller screens. Both accept PNG, JPEG, or GIF files up to 5MB.
For recommended dimensions and the option to set a banner image for one specific client, see client portal banner images.
Choosing your banner colors
Banner color sets the solid background color used when you haven't uploaded a banner image. Banner font color sets the color of your welcome message text and the Sign out text that displays over the banner.
Banner color and banner font color only apply when you haven't uploaded a banner image. An uploaded banner image covers the banner color.
A Banner preview shows a sample Sign out button styled with your chosen banner colors, so you can see how they'll look before saving.
Choosing category header colors
Item category header color sets the background color of the category headers your clients see in their portal, such as Unread Emails, Incomplete Forms, and Open Invoices. Item category header font color sets the text color of those headers.
An Item category preview shows a sample Unread Emails chip styled with your chosen category colors.
Sharing your portal
The Sharing card holds your portal's Sharing link and Embed code, each with its own copy button. Any client with an active portal and a password set can access their portal through either one. For the full walkthrough, including how to share the portal with a specific client, see share the client portal.
